How could we make the G5 Plasma/Router/Mixed Use Controller EVEN BETTER? We used the latest technology to take the external Mini PC, shrink it some more, and EMBED it inside the CONTROLLER! It’s now part of the control system! It’s removable and replaceable but it’s EMBEDDED!

Why did we do that? 1. Moves the PC into a protected and monitored environment. The G5-EC enclosure has filtered, forced air cooling and temperature probes. 2. Makes setup faster and easier. The only external module is the PWMII Digital Pick Up at the Plasma! 4. Moves the RS485 Communications inside the box, fewer connections, fewer cables, less clutter.
We have listened to customers and vendors and constantly improved the Control Software and the User Interface. Along the way we listened to suggestions about the control box and concerns that builders have. The G5-EC is the result of dozens of suggested improvements that make a great product even better. The first thing we did was to move the Table I/O card from the inside of the box to the outside; no more taking the lid off to hookup the home and limit switches or to plug in and wire the Feather Touch sensors. While we were at it, we made it have plugable terminal blocks that let you unplug everything and move it in seconds. We took our expertise with the single cable connection of the Super Z and added a 12 pin round connector that makes a single cable to an external module fast and easy. No more tangles of wires and trying to trace what connects to where. The new Table I/O at the controller has all of the same features as the prior internal ones including LED indicators on all 16 inputs and a source of regulated 12V floating power for external 12V sensors that can be used on any of the inputs. Then to make things EVEN EASIER, we put the Computer AND the 4 Port Hub inside as well. It’s all hooked up and tested together when you get it. Setup is drop-dead easy…. unbox, mount the controller to the machine where you can see and reach the front panel, plug in an HDMI monitor (not included) a keyboard and mouse. Mount and plug in the motors and flip on the power. Tune the motors to your table, run a couple of simple tests and then hookup your Plasma cutter using our single cable connection kits (optional item). You can be cutting in minutes not days.
