This is a power supply control card that will handle up to 2KW of DC power.  It has the standard bridge rectifiers, filter caps, places to attach the power switch, breaker, external fan, one or two transformers (stacked supply). ...So what makes it so advanced?

Here is the list of features:

  • On-Board Temperature Sensor and support for remote on heatsink.  Measures the temp inside the case AND at the Geckos.  Detects blocked airflow, hot drives.  Shuts down before anything is damaged by heat.
  • PWM load dump/dynamic braking measures and discharges DC buss based on the voltage. Average full discharge 2 sec.
  • Automatic lockout of power up if still in discharge cycle.
  • Detection of Gecko Servo Faults (up to 6) and shutdown with error display (requires optional OP-1)
  • Quick connects for all external power connections.

The SPSC Power Controller is like having a full time tech watching your machine for problems and acting within microseconds!  If it's hit with a line surge it simply turns off the AC and clamps the DC to protect the drives and motors.  All input components are rated to 400VAC.

The DC clamp (overvoltage protector) not only fires and discharges the DC filter caps in 2 seconds or less but it will continue to fire as long as the DC voltage is above 0.  If the motors are still dumping voltage in the buss it continues to fire.  It uses PWM to keep discharge components from being destroyed.

Shorting an output simply shuts it down.  If somethings goes wrong and there is a current surge to the load ...it simply shuts down

EZPlug Servo and Stepper Gecko interface cards  combined with our drilled and machined Gecko mounting plates/heatsinks, make hooking up all the connections fast,  easy and error free. Dual cards for either type allow the possiblity of up to 4 of any drive type or a 2X2 mixed Stepper/servo setup.  Plate mounts with 4 bolts and comes off in seconds.  Total connection to each dual card is one 10 pin ribbon cable and 4 power wires from the DC Supply.

Uneasy with servo's?  Our EZplug cards make building a servo based CNC machine as easy as a stepper.  The cards have all of the electronics to use the inexpensive Gecko 320 series drives and coupled with our SPSC Smart controller the overload and overtemp protection you need.  From the auto-reset circuit to the noise cancelling differential encoder interface the EZPlug cards are ready for commercial locations and constant use.

MTA100 Sub-plate with DB25 and DB9 cutouts.  Designed to mount inside case (as shown in photo) and give plug access for Step & Dir signals and when used with our MP1000 a remote RUN/STOP control panel.  NOT DESIGNED FOR DIRECT PARALLEL PORT CONNECTION!  This is not a full Breakout Board and has no isolated inputs or other BOB features.  It WILL work with our low cost single port MINI-IO series of BOB's.
