If you have one of the above listed plasma models and you DO NOT have the Automation Interface Kit (if you don't know, you probably DON't have it) then see the SEMI-CNC Connection Kit below.

For Plasma cutters with the standard 14 pin round (CPC) connector  and that have an internal divider .  Older TD units have the correct connector and pinout.  You must open the unit and select a voltage setting that will work with the THC SENSOR PWM (50:1 20:1 or 16:1).  Some information on this is in the DTHCII user Manual and is in the vendors literature as well

NOTE: On older units or units with no interface installed it may be easier and cheaper to buy this kit, than to buy and install the interface kit from the vendor

** Plasma cutters that require the torch to touch the workpiece to start an arc (will not start an arc in the air) are not usable with ANY of these kits and are not recommended for CNC plasma cutting



Designed to hookup to most brands and models of plasma cutters   The Universal Plasma Connection kit includes the RAV-01 Voltage divider card and the DCP-01 Digital Current Probe.  You need access to two internal signals:  RAW ARC VOLTS and the TORCH SWITCH wires.   Raw Arc volts is the undivided voltage between the Workclamp and the Electrode connections.  The torch switch wires are the two wires going to the torch (or internal circuitry that when shorted (together) fires the Torch.  The RAV-01 card is compact and mounted on an insulated plate. It mounts inside the plasma cutter and has terminals for the two signals it needs.  The RAV-01 ships with cables to connect it to the small digital sender unit ( THC SENSOR PWM) attached externally to the plasma case.   The DCP-01 (used to pickup actual cut current and use it for ARC OK) simply slips over the workclamp lead and plugs directly into the THC SENSOR PWM box. 





SEMI-CNC Connection Kit
(for units with the rear CPC connector but NO INTERNAL VOLTAGE DIVIDER

  • Covers models that have the correct CPC connector (round 14 Pin) but lack the internal voltage divider.
  • All Thermal Dynamics "A" series without the optional Automation Interface Card. (A60, A80 A120)
  • Model 1000, 1250 , 1650 Hypertherms
  • Some Thermal Dynamics 52, 102 and 152 that have the rear CPC connector & no Automation Interface



Kit includes a CPC cable (MIC-02) with 4 wires to pickup the ARC OK and to fire the torch.  Kit also includes a RAV-01 card to be mounted inside to furnish the Divided RAW ARC Volts.  THIS IS NOT FOR PLASMA CUTTERS THAT HAVE NON-STANDARD CONNECTORS.  See the next option for those type units

While serveral import brands have rear or front panel CNC connectors and provide a pinout of the signals it is recommended that you use the included RAV-01 in this kit to get the divided volts instead of trying to use the internal divider.  The RAW ARC VOLTS CANNOT come from the pins on the connector.  We provide a four conductor cable (for ARCOK and TORCH START) with no CPC plug on one end.  It is your responsibility to secure the proper connector from the vendor and to make up the cable.

"sniffs" the current at the cut!

Now you can see the actual  DC Amps AT THE CUT using our exclusive DCP Add-on module for the DTHC.  It is accurate within better than 2% across a range of 20 to 125A (higher range version available on request).  Displayed in real time on the same screen as the TORCH VOLTS,  it gives you precise information about your plasma cut.  No longer do you have to guess at what the true cut current is.   Use the Cut Profile to preset fault points so you can prevent bad cuts due to improper dial settings or poor workclamp connections.  The DCP also acts as an adjustable ARC OK sensor and it works with any plasma cutter.  Each Cut Profile can have it's own ACR OK trip value in AMPS. NOTE You need to order this option if your Plasma cuttier DOES NOT HAVE AN ARC OK (aka Transfer, Arc Xfr, OK to Move) signal.Plugs directly into the new THCSensor-PWM Module






6ft Custom interface cable.  For DTHC II systems Only  Order MIC-01 or MIC02 based on the  model and features of your HYPERTHERM or THERMALDYNAMICS plasma cutter.  This cable will not work with other plasma cutters or other models that do not have the rear panel CPC connector.  It will not work with any other THC or DTHC but the DTHCII and the THC Sensor PWM Module

Read this carefully!
The new Hypertherm 45/65/85 series plasma cutters and the new Thermal Dynamics A60/A80/A120 can be ordered with a rear panel Automation Connector (CPC Recepticle) that allows direct access to some or all of the signals needed for CNC automation.


THE MIC-01 is for plasma units that have the internal voltage divider option and the divided volt appears on the rear CPC.

THE MIC-02 is for plasma units that DO NOT have the internal voltage divider option but have the rear CPC for the START (TORCH ON) and ARC OK (Transfer) signals  See the RAV-01 Card below for a voltage divider card (universal).

Note: Some TD 52/82/102 units can be ordered with the CPC rear connector.  The Automation Interface Card for divided volts is optional and must be purchased from TD separately.







Order this card if you do not have an internal voltage divider card or one that is not compatable with the Inputs of the THC Sensor PWM Module

RAV-01 Raw Arc Volts Voltage Divider Card.

Designed for plasma units that do not have an integrated ARC Volts divider (most units do not), this card mounts inside the plasma unit and is connected to the Electrode leads and the Workclamp leads inside (raw arc volts)..  It also has screw terminals to use for the TORCH swtich and to pick up an ARC OK  signal IF YOUR UNIT has one.  The card has test buttons to confirm connections.  Manual covers how to find and interface to most plasma cutters.  If you have an older Hypertherm (1000, 1250, 1650) or TD with no voltage divider option (but with internal ARC OK and START signals) then you should order this card with your DTHCII.  If your plasma is not setup for automation then you need this card and probabaly the DCP-01 to get an arc ok.  Raw voltage is divided, filtered and is directly connected through a sheilded cable (supplied) to our THC Sensor PWM module.  4 wide connector for other signals also included. Works with both hand torch and machine torch setups.
