G251-4 Field Modificaton Kit (FMK)

The G251 FMK was developed to address a design problem in BladeRunner and BladeRunner AIO products that use the G251-4 EzPlug Interface Cards and the Gecko G251 stepper motor drives.  The problem causes an axis to lose a step during a direction change.  Over time, on long running programs the error is cumulative.  It's effect on a dual drive gantry (4 motor) system is more pronounced since the error is in opposite directions so gantry racking starts to become a problem.  The solution is the addition of 3 components in the DIR isolation circuit on the G251-4 EZPlug card, but is not something that can be done in the field. The card must be returned to the factory (us) for retrofit.  .  RETURN For Repair

  1. Download the G251-4MOD-Manual2.pdf from HERE or go to the MANUALS section of the CandCNC Website and Download from there
  2. Remove the G251-4 EZPlug Card and the Processor Card (Vertical Mount Card) per the directions in the manual. 
  3. Return the cards via a method that has tracking or delivery confirmation. 

Note:  we no longer offer the Cross ship or the Purchase and Return for credit methods.  We no longer have stock on any of the version cards to provide a direct replacment.  The FMK was offered over 12 months ago.  If you still have not gotten your card repaired or replaced the only alternative is to return the card to us for the retro-fit.  The repair continues to be free and we will pay return shipping to you .  Please include a note in the shipment that you need the card modified and retunr shipping information.  We will try to get the card repaired and returned to you as soon as possible.
