DTHC II MODULE Mounts in controller
THE DTHC II Expansion Module is installed
inside the MP3000 Case, inside the Bladerunner (or your panel with a UBOB III Builders
Kit), and is accessed through the front panel. The THC
Sensor PWM module plugs directly into the RJ45 via a standard CAT5 UTP cable and a 16 pin ribbon
cable attaches it to the Universal
BOB. If you order a system with the DTHC II (BladeRunner Dragon-Cut or Plazpak or MP3000-DTHC II) it comes already installed
Total install time
including software update (auto install program furnished) is
less than 10 minutes. |

Advanced
Self Test functions allows a one-button test
that confirms communication and proper signals to
MACH. Push the button, and the DTHC goes
into a multi-test loop that sends simulated Tip Volts
and UP and DOWN signals to the screen. It
checks the operation of the DTHC Expansion Module and
the communications link (serial) to
MACH3. |
THC SENSOR PWM
Comes with every DTHC II system
The heart of the new DTHC II is our unique THC Sensor PWM Module. Now designed in a case and ready to mount outside the plasma unit, it has plugs for interface to the signals you need to fully automate your plasma cutter for CNC. If you have an older plasma cutter we offer a separate RAW ARC VOLTAGE divider card (see options below) that gives the divided volts you need. If you have a newer plasma with the Automation Interface connectors this unit will let you plug directly to that connector. Extensive front panel status LED's let you tell at a glance if the signals are there and if they are working. Snap in the cable for the optional DCP-01 Digital Current probe. Exclusive self test/calibration mode lets you check operation and calibration of the unit . |

| A powerful part of the DTHC II is the
frimware and interface to MACH3. Mach has always
been an excellent controller for plasma because the
control of the Z under THC is in the core logic of
MACH. It's fast and tied to the other
motions of the machine so advanced toolpath functions
can be used. Now, the DTHC II builds on that and adds
in functions that takes torch control to a new
level. Now you can choose a Cut
Profile for every kind of material or cutting
you do and get the optimum results. Everything is
on the screen and at your fingertips.. |

Custom DTHC II screen brings instant feedback
and control of vital settings

Exclusive STORED SETTINGS (Cut Profile)
Popup lets you select and edit any number of types of
cuts. Also stores important information for the
operator about what tip, cut current and Feedrate the
job should be set to. All of the information you
need and the settings you choose are behind one
button.

- Default Cut
Profiles get you started,
No adjustments to change.
- Create your
own or edit the existing profiles
- Control of Preset
Volts on screen for each type of
cutting...just select and run
- Control of tracking volts
"Span Gap" lets you set how tight you
want the control to track. You can set it
as close as 1/4 volt to 2 volts or more. Set it
tight for thin, fast cutting and looser for thick slow
cutting.
- Tip Saver
feature: Control of the percentage voltage
allowed before the Head "locks" from going down. This
prevents the tip from diving when it crosses a void,
gets close to the start point or passes over a hole or
cutout. Based on tip volts it won't let
the head dive into a void.
- Control of when and how a
Fault is handled. You set the
upper and lower voltage faults.
- Control of the "THC
Delay" so spikes caused by a pierce are
not used for any of the Faults or "Tip Saver"
actions by the DTHC. Basically delays sending any signal to MACH.
- Control of WHAT
happens on a fault. You can have it
turn off the torch, raise the head to safe Z, stop the cut,
etc
- Readout and use of actual CUT CURRENT (requires optional DCP- 01 Digtal Current Probe).
- ARC OK Current setting to use CUT CURRENT for ARC OK trip (adjustable)
- Stored CUT Current and Current Tolerance allows warning the operator if cut current is outside limits for that profile and can be set to STOP the systems on the fault. No more bad cuts from forgetting to adjust the plasma cut current at the plasma unit or not having a good workclamp connection.

The DTHC II is a complete system for use with virtually any plasma unit but with features to take advantage of the newer plasma units with automation interface features |

The DTHCII offers new technology to give tight integration with modern Plasma cutters. We have redesigned the THC Sensor card that installs at the plasma and made it so it will take the most popular divided voltages. Rather than just sending the low level analog voltages down a 25 ft cable that could be subject to errors from any noise or signal loss, we convert the analog to a PWM digital signal that is highly noise immune. As a result the interface cable between the THC Sensor and the DTHC module is a simple Cat 5 UTP network cable. Have a new Hypertherm 45/65 0r 85 plasma cutter or a Thermal Dynamics "A" series plasma cutter (or 52/82/102 with the rear automation connector)? Then just order one of the two optional interface cables and simply plug one end into our THC Sensor PWM unit and the other into the rear cpnnector on your plasma and you are done!. | OPTION: RAW ARC VOLTAGE DIVIDER module. $41.00 For the system that does not have an internal voltage divider. The RAV-01 will take what you throw at it because it has extensive suppression, protection and noise filtering. The unit comes with cables to interface it with the THC Sensor PWM. You can order a matching case to mount it in or installit raw inside the plasma unit. It has screw terminal connections to pick up the TORCH SWITCH and the the internal ARC OK (if present). Added to this card are test buttons to fire the torch manually and to confirm there is divided voltage when the torch is fired (LED lights). Order this card if your plasma unit does not have an internal voltage divider. If your unit does not have an ARC OK (dry contact) signal either inside on the rear CPC connector then order the DCP-01 unit to get ARC OK. The DTHC II and the RAV-01 no longer support the CT transformer method of ARC OK. | |
| OPTION: MIC-01 Machine Interface Cable This is a custom cable that plugs directly into the rear Circular Plastic Connector) of Hypertherm models 45/65/85 and Thermal Dynamics models with the CPC connector AND the optional Automation Interface Card. The divided volts MUST be present on the rear connector to use this cable. The plasma end is a matching CPC male plug populaed with the pins and ready plug-n-go. The other end has the connectors that plug into the THC SENSOR PWM module Do not order this cable if your unit does not have the internal voltage divider. Installation of the cable and setting the divide ratio is covered in the DTHC II manual.$45.00
| OPTION: MIC-02 Machine Interface Cable This is a custom cable that plugs directly into the rear Circular Plastic Connector) of Hypertherm models 45/65/85 and Thermal Dynamics models with the CPC connector but without the internal voltage divider . The plasma end is a matching CPC male plug populaed with the pins and ready plug-n-go. The other end has the connectors that plug into the THC SENSOR PWM module Do not order this cable if your unit has the internal voltage divider. Installation of the cable and setting the divide ratio is covered in the DTHC II manual. The MIC-02 cable is used for machines that have the automation connector but need the RAV-01 card above to pickup the RAW ARC VOLTS and give a divided Arc voltage. DO NOT CONNECT RAW ARC VOLTS DIRECTLY TO THE INPUT OF THE THC SENSOR PWM Card. You will (at the least) blow the input circuit. If your unit does not have the rear CPC connector or you are not sure download the DTHC II Expansion Card Manual. There are diagrams on how to hookup the RAV-01 card to a unit that has no internal divider.
