INTRODUCING the DCP-01 Digital Current Probe !  The first affordable way to monitor and use the actual cutting CURRENT of a plasma cutter.  Prior to the DCP-01 the operator had to set the current on the plamsa cutter with the front panel knob and ASSUME it was actually cutting at the AMPS that was set.  Because the cut current of a plasma unit is supposed to be a certain value and remain constant during the cut, any deviation from the proper value can cause bad cuts and cause the THC settings to be wrong.  In extreme cases the torch will lose arc and fault out or fail to penetrate at the pierce.  The DCP-01 solves the problem of not knowing what the REAL CUT CURRENT is, and helps diagnose and even stop bad cuts due to improper plasma current.  The DCP-01 is an innovative product that is compact, extremely accurate, easy to install and works with ANY plasma unit ever made!  Coupled with the unique features of the CandCNC DTHC (Digital Torch Height Control)  it brings a new dimension to accurate plasma cutting. NO OTHER THC VENDOR OFFERS A REALTIME READOUT AND USE OF ACTUAL PLASMA CUTTING CURRENT FOR LESS then $10,000

Also functions as the ARC OK sensor so makes any plasma unit easy to automate. Get the most out of your plasma unit and confirm your settings.  No more guessing.  Catches common mistakes like forgetting to change the settings on the plasma unit when changing tips, or not hooking up the workclamp.  Detects bad workclamp connections .  Makes troubleshooting bad cuts easier.  Warns the operator and can be set to STOP the cut.    Works with all DTHC based units shipped since Feb 5th 2010.  Older units can be converted or upgraded at a low cost.  Click HERE! for link to upgrade.
40 page DTHC Setup Manual

The DCP-01 slides over your plasma systems WORKCLAMP LEAD.  It's a non-contact current reading and takes no power from the plasma circuit.  Installation may require you to disconnect the clamp from the workclamp lead or disconnect workcalmp lead at the table (if bolted on) Maximum diameter to slide through cable clamps (each end) is 1/2" (12mm).   This is NOT a "Clamp On" type probe and is designed to be perminately attached.  Installation, setup and calibration instructions are in the DTHC setup manual (rev4 or higher)

MORE THAN JUST A READOUT!

Those of you that already have our Digital Torch Height Control in a CandCNC product know about the CUT PROFILES popup window and how you can have STORED SETTINGS to quickly setup cutting different material. It's a standard feature on all DTHC units.  It won't come as a surprise then to see that the Cut Current has been moved from the "Information" section to the "Settings" section where it can be used to set a target current.  The DTHC then compares the Cut Current preset to the Current Tolerance % and if it's out of spec it will warn the operator on the screen (big flashing LED).  As an option you can have it STOP on a Current fault condition.   Note also that the Arc OK Current can be set by material profile so that you can specify the minimum current to trigger an ARC OK event.  Raise or lower the trip point and the Cut Current/Current Tolerance by material type.
